Inclusion at Little Athletics

At Little Athletics we want everyone to feel included – What does this look like?
Inclusion is:
- Everyone is welcome in the athletics community, and we show this by listening to each other and being kind.
- Everyone is valued because they are different and unique.
- Everyone can participate and have fun.
- Everyone can achieve and learn new skills.
How can I include everyone?
We each have a role to include our peers at athletics. You can do this –
- Treat everyone with kindness and the way you would like to be treated.
- Listen to each other and show interest in them.
- Reach out to other athletes, especially when they are new to the centre.
- Be friendly with your peers.
- Make everyone feel accepted and welcome.
- Encourage your peers and give genuine compliments.
- Offer help.
- Think about other peoples’ feelings when making decisions.
If you feel someone is being excluded, you or your parent/carer can speak to your Age Manager or a Committee Member.
What can I do if I don’t feel included?
- Little Athletics volunteers will chat with you about your needs and will make adjustments if you need them so that you can have the best experience!
- Little Athletics welcomes everyone but if you feel you have been treated unfairly or are not being included, you or your parent/carer can speak to your Age Manager or a Committee member.
